Mr. Surya Narayan Shrestha

Editor-in-Chief

Mr. Surya Narayan Shrestha is Executive Director of the National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET). He has over a decade of management experience and leadership in earthquake technology and disaster risk reduction. Mr. Shrestha has served as Technical Adviser to Nepal's National Reconstruction Authority, and played an important role in supplementing vital information in formulating national level policies, plans and programs for post-earthquake reconstruction. He also serves as a member of the Governing Board of Global Earthquake Model (GEM).

Dr. Rebekah Paci-Green

Managing Editor

Dr. Rebekah Paci-Green is Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Western Washington University. There she teaches courses in natural hazards planning, disaster risk reduction, and disaster policy. She is Director of the Resilience Institute and has over 15 years of experience working on community-based risk reduction, disaster recovery, and disaster policy in the United States and Asia. Much of her work focuses on comprehensive school safety in hazard-prone regions.

Safer Society's International Advisory Board is comprised of senior experts in disaster risk management, including both Nepalese and international experts.

The International Advisory Board's role is to provide strategic advice, review and approve journal policy, select the Editor-in-Chief, and, as needed, adjudicate complaints brought against the journal in accordance to the journal's formal complaints and appeals process. Board members serve 4-year terms for up to two terms.
